A new attempt at blogging
Having a blog is kind of a weird feeling. Sometimes, you feel like you want to share an idea or a perspective with the world, and then nothing.
I have tried several times to create a blog, but I have never managed to write regularly on it. My posts were primarily technical Python articles, a bit of security, and some slices of life.
Writing regularly has always been challenging for me. English is not my first language, and I struggle to write. It is difficult to find nice ways to express myself, from vocabulary to formulation; it is not my strong suit.
So why go through the pain to have a blog again?
The main reason is that I am constantly developing new thoughts I want to share. I could just post them on one of the many social networks, but I feel that a blog presents various advantages.
The most important one is that it forces you to think. I would call it slow-posting. On a social network, which often cultivates anger and toxic behavior through the overstimulation of emotions, it is very easy to have abrupt, unthought-out reactions.
I believe that having to post, not in reaction, but as an initial thought seed, with the necessity of taking the time to write and think about each idea expressed, automatically induces more developed stances and concepts.
One of the other advantages is that it stays. A post in millions on Instagram or Facebook will disappear quickly, lost in the limbo of millions of other posts. Here, it is searchable, always present, and kind of serves as an intellectual chronology. I am very eager to see how my thinking evolved in five years.
Another essential point to me is freedom. Every time you depend on a platform, you are susceptible to being censored or taken down. A very recent example is Twitter, where under Elon Musk, Twitter complied with 83% of censor requests from authoritarian governments.
The last reason is that I am a diffuse thinker. I often change topics, and I hope that by writing down my thoughts and ideas, I will be able to not start from scratch every time but instead develop them step by step. I could keep them to myself, but I feel like it is good to challenge them and maybe help others move their train of reasoning.
So here I am, trying one more time to keep a blog updated. I am sure I will have to face many backslashes and death threats, but at the same time, I feel like it is the time or never.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading me, and I hope you will find some of the topics and some of my thoughts worth reading.
If you disagree, please do not hesitate to express yourself respectfully.
Have a lovely day.
